Type of Cookie in a Skillet

Salted Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Mini Skillet

There is something special about a chocolate chip cookie skillet. After thinking about it for a long while, I feel I might finally have discovered why…you can eat it basically right out of the oven. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love chocolate chip cookies as is. The yin of the ooey gooey chocolate and the yang of the sweet, caramelized perfection only real butter can get you. There is something poetic about the simple nature of a classic crispy edge and chewy middle when you bake a fresh batch up.

BUT…the cast iron…it may compete for the best way to make a cookie. The way the pan keeps it piping hot, caramelizes every edge with the perfect texture, and don’t get me started on the gooiness – unrivaled. Truly a gift to us all and not a day goes by where I don’t think about it. Now, most times a cookie skillet is rather large and is shared amongst others (although put me up against any cookie skillet and I can take that thing down myself), which makes it a dessert you don’t often make for one…or so I thought. Without further adieu, the reason you are all here – the mini Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet. Salted to perfection, this Brown Butter Chocolate Chunk cookie is anything but ordinary. It takes my love for cookie skillets and amplifies it time approximately 1,000.

Now you start talking ice cream flavors here?  Forget about it – ice cream and cookies never loses. So do yourself a favor – grab a mini cast iron pan next time you are at the grocery store or better yet, order one off of Amazon and you don’t have to move off the couch. All I can tell you is I think you’ll be glad you did. Tell them Lex sent you. I’m not sure who you are telling and why, but let’s just go with it.

Recipe:

- Preheat your oven to 325 degrees
